The greeks believed that there were six different types of love. Each was unique and spoke of a different feeling for different people. We are all capable of including one, if not a few of these beautiful feelings into our life if we are willing to let them grow and look after our the people in our life.
All you need is love…
Eros- The fiery love between lovers. Passion for somebody.
Philia- The platonic love between friends.
Pragma- The understanding that grows between long life partners and the love between them.
Agape- The selfless love for strangers, fellow humanity and those who need it.
Ludus- The playfulness of children.
Philautia- Love for yourself.
Its time to show our love…
Isn’t it important that we prioritise our time for the people we love? No matter the kind of love they give us, if they bring love into your life then spending time with them will be a joy.
I think its normal to find it a little tricky to split your time between all the lovely people in your life. There are always plans taking place and it’s not always easy to fit everything in. Sometimes it can feel like 3 days just passed in the space of 3 hours because you squeezed in so many catch ups, plans and coffee breaks into the time, but for me this is one of my favourite things.
I love being busy and seeing all my favourite people at the same time, the more the merrier and all that jazz. In my opinion, there is nothing better than a summer night around the BBQ till the sun goes down and the moon comes up with good company and a few cheeky glasses of fizz.
BUT, for me, its become so clear as i’ve gotten older (the oh-so-wise age of 22..LOLS) who I actually want to spend my time with and who brings love into my life, who I feel happy to have a mad whirlwind of a weekend seeing.
The older I’ve gotten, the less people I would call true friends. However, the love I have for the friends in my life has become much more precious and more of a priority for me.
Keep the love close…
Take a little moment to think about who you want to be in your life forever, and then take another moment to say thank you to them and make plans with them. Don’t let the people who bring love into your life drift away. They’re the keepers.
My favourite person to spend time with ticks all the love boxes and on Tuesday we went for a hike up in the Lake District. I laughed, grinned and felt so much love ALL DAY. I LOVE that about life, I love that its full of people I love and I plan to keep it that way.
I guess what i’m really trying to say is that spending time with the people I love is one of my favourite things, and I hope you do it too.
